Our animal shelter open day offers fun for the whole family, including your four-legged friends.
What to expect on the day
If you’re looking to add a new furry friend to your family, adoptions will be half price.
We’re also offering microchipping for just $21, normally $74.
Other highlights include:
- dog training demonstrations
- a demonstration by Guide Dogs Australia
- raffle draw
- face painting
- sausage sizzle.

Animal shelter is at capacity
The Sutherland Shire Council’s animal shelter operates in partnership with the City of Sydney. Cats and dogs that have been picked up by City of Sydney rangers are taken to our partner shelter.
Like many shelters across Sydney, our shelter is at capacity. There are so many beautiful animals waiting for new homes and families. Your new best friend might just be waiting for you. View dogs and cats available for adoption.
