We stopped traffic in our neighbourhoods for everyone to dine, drink and celebrate outdoors.
Potts Point was the first of 6 of our local areas to undergo a Summer Streets transformation. Streets were closed to traffic for a day of alfresco dining and drinking, entertainment and special offers.
Sydney Drag Royalty and the Mirror Bulls brought some glam to fabulous Crown Street. Across all Summer Streets events, roving performers and entertainers helped bring the streets to life, with a lineup including drag queens, jazz bands and fire dancers.
Moody skies couldn’t keep Sydneysiders away for a stroll down high street favourite, Glebe Point Road.
Our streets played host to everything from free painting workshops with Paint & Sip Studios in Glebe and wine tastings at Porters Liquor in Pyrmont, to a clothes swap market at 107 Projects in Redfern. At Vets on Crown, a Waggiest Tail competition catered for our 4-legged visitors.
Giant bubbles, roaming frill neck lizards, fire performers and LED dancers added to the fun for everyone on Redfern Street.
A record number of people turned out for blue skies at Crown Street Summer Streets, eating, shopping and socialising the afternoon away.
Restaurants and cafes took their tables to the streets, and plenty of other local businesses got in on the act with special offers, freebies and more.
It's been great to see friends, neighbours and people from across Sydney enjoying our public spaces, supporting local businesses in such vibrant style.
Sydneysiders welcomed the sunshine and turned out in splendour as Stanley Street played host of the final Summer Streets event on 12 March.
The good times roll on as the sun sets on Stanley Street.
