We all have clothes we no longer wear or a junk drawer full of dead batteries, old mobiles and cords we don’t use.
It’s time to gather up these old items and give them a second life.
With the doorstep recycling service and the Ultimo recycling pop-up, City of Sydney residents are spoilt for choice on sustainable ways to get rid of their stuff.
The doorstep recycling service is a free and easy way to recycle unlimited amounts of tricky items that don’t belong in your bins at home.
Book online and a driver from SCRgroup will collect your items from your doorstep or apartment building lobby. You don’t even need to be at home.
If you prefer to get out and about to recycle, walk up to the new Ultimo recycling pop-up, open from 2pm to 7pm every Tuesday (except public holidays) at 10-16 Bay Street, Ultimo.
Items we accept in these services include clothes, toys, bed linen, towels, mobile phones, vapes, CDs, DVDs, small electronics, kitchen appliances, polystyrene, aluminium coffee pods, printer cartridges, x-rays and paint.
If you have household batteries, mobile phones, small light bulbs (excluding fluorescent tubes) and small electronics less than 11cm wide and 30cm long, remember you can drop these items off in recycling stations at our customer service centres, libraries, community and recreation centres.
Your items are either reused or recycled and turned into new products, saving precious resources from landfill.
