Here’s just a taste of what you could learn to make in no time.
Ceramic hanging planters
You don’t need any ceramics experience or a green thumb to make your own pretty planter from clay to hang at home. But the fun doesn’t have to stop there. From cups, bowls and vases, to native bee hotels, get hands-on and master basic to more advanced ceramic techniques.
Whether you’re keen to learn hand-building or give wheel-throwing a go, there are 4 to 8 week courses available. You’ll also get to explore and experiment with different glazing and surface techniques to finish your works ready for firing in the kiln.
Custom designed jewellery
Update your jewellery collection or make gifts for friends and family in our courses for complete beginner to advanced jewellery makers. You’ll get to work with silver, brass and copper to craft your own custom designs from rings and earrings to bracelets and broches.
Our expert jeweller will teach you how to solder with the torch as well as cut, form and polish different metals. There’s also plenty of opportunities in the workshops to experiment with techniques like inlaying, etching, roller printing and stamping.
Hand-printed artworks
Have you ever wanted to hand-print your own designs for artworks, cards or maybe even fabric for cushions? Channel your inner Andy Wahol or Florence Broadhurst and get started with a hands-on introduction to linocut, drypoint and monotype in our beginner workshops.
There are also specialised courses in screen printing, etching or relief block printing if you’d prefer to hone your skills in just 1 technique.
More advanced students can join a studio intensive class to work on their own projects with an experienced printmaker on hand for advice and assistance.
A still-life painting for your wall
Not only is it a great stress relief, but painting, like other creative artforms, has many positive benefits on your overall wellbeing. It’s never too early or late to pick up a brush and learn to paint.
Pine Street has a range of fun workshops for beginners to learn the fundamentals of drawing and painting, including composition, tone and colour. You’ll get to experiment with different materials from acrylics, watercolours and inks to pencil and charcoal. By the end of the course, you’ll have your own artwork to hang on the wall and show off to friends and family.
